Congleton Link Road – Notice of Giantswood Lane Closure
As the Principal Contractor working with Cheshire East Council on the new Congleton Link Road project, we would like to inform you that we will be imposing a 24-hour closure of Giantswood Lane for a period of approximately 6 weeks commencing on the 21st February 2020.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT ROAD CLOSURE
The closure will enable the completion of the concrete works to the new structure, carrying out essential utility diversions and resurfacing the realigned carriageway across the bridge. By closing Giantswood Lane we can maximise the working area and complete the works in an efficient timely manner, without the need to prolong the temporary carriageway which is controlled by 3-way traffic lights and rule out the need for causing further disturbances in the future, which would have been required when completing critical operations.
The existing temporary carriageway will cease to be operational once the closure has been imposed.
A signed diversion route for vehicles and a separate route for non-motorists will be put in place and diversion maps are enclosed for your attention.
We are aware of the effect traffic disruption has on our neighbours and the local community and will only be diverting traffic onto local roads when necessary.
We will continue to communicate and engage with you during the works to ensure that any inconvenience is kept to a minimum. If you would like more information on the Congleton Link Road construction:
