Message from Val Simons, Pupil Place Planning Officer Cheshire East Council
The Local Authority has a statutory duty to provide sufficient school places for children resident in its area.
An analysis of the latest pupil forecasts has identified the need to provide additional secondary school places in Congleton in response to increasing pupil populations. Following discussions with the Local Authority, the governing body of The Quinta Primary School have considered the need for extra school places in the area and have resolved to publish an expansion proposal. The proposal, if approved, would provide an additional 70 places across the year groups and increase the Published Admission Number from 50 to 60 per year group from September 2018.
Feedback your views…. Consultation on the proposed expansion runs from 20 October to 24 November. The local authority/Governing Body is seeking feedback from all interested parties on the proposal and is hoping to receive as much feedback as possible during the consultation stage. All feedback received during the consultation period will be considered by the governing body before the proposal can be decided. It is important to note that no decisions have been taken at this stage. We therefore urge you to visit the Council’s website at:- http://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/schools/school_organisation/the-quinta-school-expansion.aspx where you can read the consultation document and complete the feedback form before the closing date of 24 November. If you have any questions about this email please don’t hesitate to contact me.
