Somerford Neighbourhood Steering Group applied to have Somerford Area designated as a Neighbourhood Area in January. Finally after waiting six months on Monday 20th July 2015 the area was formally designated by Cheshire East as a neighbourhood area. Cheshire East council were quoted as saying the delay was due to discussions amongst Cheshire East officers over the matter and May’s local elections. This now enables the Steering Group to apply for further funding from Cheshire East and to move forward with the plan.
